It is a good idea to bring samples of materials to your home or office before making a large purchase. This way you can see how they look under your lighting, and with regards to other aspects of the space. Most carpet samples are available free of charge, and usually carpet purchases are non-refundable.

Often, the dirt that gets tracked in is dark-brown or black in color. Although proper maintenance can significantly extend the appearance of a carpet, it is wise to use darker colors in high traffic areas.
